My power steering rack was leaking from the boots so I am replacing it with a refurbished rack. Each time I try to start the 17mm line, it feels like its starting to cross thread. I know they are tricky and you have to get the angle right but each time I try I'm not getting past the feeling of cross thread.
I have little experience when it comes to cleaning up fitting threads. Has anyone dealt with this? What did you use to clean the threads?
Turns out my ball-joint separator was the exact thread size! I was able to run the bolt into the hole and then run the threaded side through the hole in the ball-join separator.
