Seat Rails vs Seats (Honda/Acura)
People with good Honda Interior knowledge requested.
I was wondering if specific generation seat rails fit most any honda/acura seats or is it selective? Is there a year range/limit of seats that fit older seat rails? Or can you grab most any modern Honda/Acura seats and fit 15-25 year old seat rails on them so they work for your car sort of gig?
Simple example would be 5th gen or 6th gen seat rails and say 8th gen Si bucket seats.
I really do not have any experience with this aspect of modification and only seen snippets of people using universal seat rails or specific after market rails made for their car deal for certain after market seats.
I do know some seats are simple swap bolt in seats like specific Integra seats fit the 5th gens. That's not the same as what I'm curious to know. Thank you in advance for any info you may have.

Take the seat rails from a 96-00 civic and swap them on an integra seat and they'll bolt into a 96-00 civic. Most would take the ears on the rails and weld them onto the original seat rails the seats came on.
As long as the bolts line up on the seat back frame, you will have to, at most, do a seat pan swap from your stock seats to the new seats. Otherwise you can mix and match rails and get them to fit.
Example:
BB6 prelude seats into 96 civic: Swap the door-side civic rail onto the prelude seat and it now bolts into the civic chassis.
I think with newer 8th gen seats you might need to swap the whole seat pan to the 5th-6th gen to be able to use them. I looked into it but memory is hazy as I never acquired any seats to swap in.
