Steering noise
I have a 2006 Honda Civic, when I back out of a parking spot or driveway, I feel a grinding in the brake pedal and then when I turn the steering wheel to go forward, there’s a noise coming from the right front end. Was told by dealership it was struts, another said it was lower control arm(replaced today) and thought it fixed it because it didn’t make the noise or anything the few times I backed out of a parking spot and stuff until I went home, was there for a couple hours, when I left, it did it again
Maybe both... Check the struts by pushing the car down and let come up to see the reaction. Lift the wheel, see what is loose. Turn the wheel and listen, check the bearing. Take the wheel off, do the pads and rotor look ok? It can be a much worn rotor or pad... You said you feel it on the brake.
A place told me that I have a bad wheel bearing on the Elantra. Everything I saw went against that diagnosis. I went under the car, CV axles were both loose. Another mechanic replaced them, no problem anymore. So even mechanics are not car gurus sometimes...
