Battery : honda vs honda original vs manufacturer brand ?
Hi,,
I need to change my battery for my Civic 2013 EX.
After talking to a friend, he saud that honda had 2 kind of betteries: Honda and Honda original .
What arethe differences ? and is itworth to by the expensive one ?
I am also considering a manufacturer brand that is reliable ?
Are the manufacturer brand as good as honda brand ?
Thanks for help

Have a Costco card? Their Interstate batteries are hard to beat.
8 years out of a battery is pretty good. Should be able to stick with a decent brand and get another 8 years out of the replacement.

Honda doesn't manufacture car batteries. The replacement batteries sold at the dealership may or may not be identical to what the car was shipped with (labeling, with or without battery health indicator, etc.). It also doesn't necessarily mean either one is inferior or superior
In the U.S., there are like 3 main car battery manufacturers. Most batteries are just re-branded.
Interstate batteries are really good like Ryanthegreat1 stated, and it is hard to beat Costco's proration or refund policy.

I don't know if Honda's replacement battery supplier is the same all over the Country, but I can tell you that in my area, the Honda Dealership Parts/Service Departments are supplied by Interstate Battery. The difference in price between a Honda battery and an Interstate battery will be due to the difference in warranty... specifically, the free replacement period and the pro-rated period. Honda's is more lengthy.
