Default Cv axles too short

Cv axles this has been a major pain I bought a crx(91) with a d15b2 and when I purchased cv axles for it from o'reilly's (for a 91 crx hf they were an inch and 3 inches too short respectively now I didn't realize that they were too short until putting the passenger side on and noticed that my wheel wouldn't go back on because the s*** was too short so I need to know what trans came with the d15 b2 or I need to know what CV axles I'm supposed to put on this f****** car so this nightmare will be over thanks for any help

nightmare?
oh oh sounds like youve been having a hard time

first thing to check
is if your trans is a hf crx cable clutch trans
or if you have a dx or a si crx cable trans
my guess is that your old axles may have been modified

heres a little test you can do

first heres a little commen info on the hf crx
and thats that the axles ends
the ends that go into the wheel hubs are smaller than the dx and si crx hubs

so the first thing i would do is get your hands on a crx dx or si axle and see if it fits in your wheel hub and if it doesnt
but the axle is the right length

then im thinking what happend was that some one swapped over the axle ends so that the dx- si axles would fit while still using the smaller hf wheel hubs

get it ?

i did try swapping out for a 91 civic axle but that one is too short too but the one i ordered for the hf the first time had the correct number of splines as it fit perfectly aside from being too short

and for the record its got 26 splines on the hub so id wager it needs 26 spline axles but all of them i have tried have been too short so i have no idea what to do now

i told you what to do
already

let me try to get a little more info before you go off making more threads
with the same question

your crx when you bought it
did it already have axles in it ?

if your answers yes
and your old axles were just clicking im guessing?
all you would need to do is swap out the axle ends with some new ones

so those short axles you bought that dont fit
you remove the ends off those and then you can use the longer rod from your old axle and make it work
put your new axle ends on your old axle rod

thats just the idea that came to mind when i read your first post

of course im not there in person i cant see your car
if i could im sure we could figure this out in a heart beat

i would take some pictures of the old axle vs new axle and also of the transmission and the hubs also
and then post them on here
it may help me and other people reading this also
to figure out what going on here ^_-
