Default Can’t get timing right

So this is a cry for help I’ve done anything and everything to this car to fix timing so I have a 1996 Honda Civic D series fully built motor and fully built transmission with the 30r I originally thought the issue with the motor was a distributor so I replaced a distributor it still had issues then I thought the issue was the intake manifold gasket so I replaced the intake manifold gasket then I thought the issue was the throttlebody so I replace the throttlebody I’ve tried to re-time the engine multiple times and it still has “knock” and now I have pulled the timing belt off and it looked as though the cam gear was advanced 20° so I retarded the cam 20° put the belt back on started the motor and it still had the same pinging knocking noise can someone please help. It a bad video of the noise but I will post it

Doesn't sound like timing is off to me but the quality isn't that great. In my experience, when the timing is off a tooth it sounds like it's misfiring, or like a subie kind of. Did you complete the valve adjustment? Are you sure bearing were clearance right? Almost sounds like a knock.

So I forgot to mention I pulled the spark plugs in the very beginning thinking that was the issue (previous to the knock noise) and replaced them with new ones after that that’s when the knock happened so I just put the old ones back in and started it and no knock so I either gapped them wrong or had a bad plug. Is that possible or is there something wrong with the motor?

I really hope that car isn't tuned yet. If it is, you just made the entire tune totally worthless now by changing the cam gear setting.
You will need to have a professional degree the cam back to spec [before getting it tuned].
Check and adjust the valve lash. I'm sure it needs it.
After you get everything mechanical situated, GET IT TUNED by a professional.
