Just like you read it. It wont go down. The handle spins but does nothing. Previous owner I bought the car from took panels off already. I tried going on youtube but it's mostly "manual window won't roll up" videos or "power windows stuck". Does anyone have pictures or any other video instructions on how to fix it. I already have a new manual assembly. I just need help bringing the window down to the holes so I can unscrew them.

 

When you take the door panel off, and you are looking at the "scissors" which is the "x" of the two metal bars, are you able to move them at all? If not, an idea is to tape the glass into place in the up position for now, then unbolt the assembly, which is a couple of bolts in the middle and bolts holding the rails on the sides (what the glass slides down on), then hopefully you can at least pull it out. If it is really jammed, then possibly you can take it further apart if you look where the teeth of the gears are and see if you can drill out the rivets holding it in place, that should let the whole thing collapse and you can get it out.

I had a close call on this myself on the civic, but I was able to basically bend the **** out of the x and it let me then fold it down and remove it.

 

So I finally replaced it. But now when I bring it up and down it keeps getting out of alignment. Should I get new rails too?
