I've been working on a friend's car for a while now and am down to the last few issues to resolve. Both of these lights are on, yet there are no codes stored.
According to Autoenginuity, and several other readers I have access to at work, there are no codes stored for anything, and they all say the ECU is not requesting the lights to be on.
The car runs and drives great with no issues. There were a few codes when I started working on the car, but I've since resolved those. O2 sensor and evap leak. Replaced the gas cap, evap canister shut valve, and O2 sensor and codes went away. The light stayed on. All my scanners indicate that the lights are off, and there are no stored or pending codes.
Is there something I'm missing? Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any advice.
just throwing this out there: one of the times that the srs light was on it was the clockspriing. I know the 2001 and on cars (for example corolla) there will be a srs code something like blah blah circuit low-- indicating when a possible problem with clockspring. I believe I replaced a clockspring with no srs code in a del sol. Does your horn work? if does not then it might be the clockspring
I'm not as familiar with the EK models, but I know on an EG that the horn and cruise control would stop working and the SRS light if the cable reel was damaged. I had to replace mine it completely failed.
I've also seen a case where the lights are on because of LED lights used instead of standard bulbs and it caused some type of impedence problem and made the lights go on like that.
The horn works. The bulb was replaced with genuine honda part number 35505-sa5-003. It's a regular bulb, not an led.
Sometimes while driving, the engine light turns off for about 3 seconds, then comes back on again. I might just try putting another gauge cluster in to see if the problem persists.
Thanks so far for the advice, and any more to come.
Jump the blue 2P service check connector to see if there are any trouble codes. If there are any trouble codes, the Check Engine Light or the SRS indicator light will blink. The SRS indicator blinking would be related to SRS DTCs. Check Engine Light blinking would be related to other DTCs.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction!
I found the plug and there was a small length of solder jumping the two pins. I guess the person working on it before me forgot they put it there. Anyways, I pulled it out, and all is back to normal. The check engine light and the srs light both turn off after the self test sequence now. What a relief.
