Need help removing bottom cover & high-mount brake light from spoiler (CR-V)
I managed to crack the spoiler on my brand new 2020 CR-V EX on its first day in my possession (don't ask!). It must be replaced (74901-tla-a02zm).
I removed the assembly from the vehicle (spoiler + bottom cover + high-mount brake light) without any issues but I can't figure out how to remove the brake light or bottom cover from the spoiler. The brake light appears to be held in place by 3 flange nuts, which I removed, but it still won't budge. Perhaps there's something else holding it that's hidden beneath the bottom cover? So I removed 6 screws and released 6 spring clips that secure the bottom cover to the spoiler, but it, too, won't separate from the spoiler. I'm obviously missing something!
Hopefully someone here can explain what else I need to do to separate these parts. I believe the spoiler / brake light / cover assembly fits together the same for all 2017-2020 CR-V models.

See these instructions, starting at step #22. There are 13 retainer tabs and 6 screws to remove the spoiler trim.

Thanks tech8!
Opps, I can't open that pdf. Is that a protected site for dealers only?

This is not a dealer protected site.
If you can't open the above link, try going through the main page first by selecting 2020 CR-V.

The above-linked instructions appear to be for the optional spoiler, which requires some modifications to the vehicle (several 11mm holes must be drilled in lieu of the plastic clips, which get removed and sealed). The removal diagrams were somewhat helpful, although incomplete.
Once I removed the washer tube (just a few drops of fluid leaked out), I was able to bring the assembly inside and study it more carefully under better light. As it turns out, there's a 4-piece adhesive gasket that prevents the bottom cover from removal. It spans and covers the joint between the cover and spoiler frame. Once I removed these gaskets (which I must now re-order), the cover lifted right off. Likewise, a double adhesive strip holds the brake light to the spoiler assembly, so the only way to remove the light is to slide a knife blade between the spoiler and the light and pry it loose - little by little.
None of that is covered in the optional spoiler instructions where it describes removal of the stock spoiler! Sigh. Anyway, now that I have it all apart, it's clear how to reassemble and install the new spoiler so I can now proceed with my parts order with confidence.
