Help !!
We replaced the timing belt in our 2008 Ridgeline at 85k , the belt was defective and broke after driving it leads than 500 miles . Our mechanic put another belt on and tried turning the engine over by hand and didn’t hear anything abnormal so he tried starting it , it wouldn’t start . Is there a way to diagnose for sure that the engine has problems without tearing it apart . I like this truck and it is in fantastic condition with low mileage , I don’t want to junk it ...
Leakdown, if he told you he has to tear it down to know then find someone that knows what they are doing.
And a new belt being 'defective', presumeably from Honda, is not going to happen. You may have bent valves, but that doesn't mean he has to pull both heads.
