Default Best brands to look at?!

I bought a 99 civic cx before the snow fall, going to be my first project car. I’ve been doing schooling for auto mechanics and for a couple years and I feel very comfortable with turning a wrench and doing the work myself. I just struggle with finding parts, and reliable brands to look for. Any recommendations? Specifically suspension parts, I plan on doing a k swap so don’t want to throw anything on the y7 it has right now just want to get it driving nice. Thanks for the help!

Depending on what you want from the suspension and whether we are talking stock replacement parts or aftermarket upgrades?

Common OEM-like replacement parts that seem to be pretty good overall are Moog, Mahle, Beck-Arnley. Springs and shocks KYB,Billstein, Koni.

Eibach, Skunk, Ground Control for some aftermarket. Maybe describe what you want to do and better recommendations can be made.

looking to put some after market parts in, wanting to lower a bit, and get upper controls so I can keep the wheels at the 2° they are. Maybe some rear lower control arms, the ones in right now are so ugly. Possibly a sway bar too, money isn’t a huge concern I’m just not familiar with brands and don’t want to get shitty parts and and learn the hard way. Just wanna start this project with some solid parts

moog used to be great but i've bought some of their sketchy newer parts.
they are no longer recommended on this thread:

gates is another now made in china brand, their water pumps are dodgy at best. npw ftw!

You can also do some reading in the sticky at the top of this forum talking specifically about quality aftermarket parts and peoples findings and opinions based on real world and current experience.

I will also agree with the Moog no longer being a quality part supplier anymore from what I understand.

I've probably just been lucky with Moog parts. Replaced upper and lower control arms on both the civic and accord, with no issues for the last 20,000 miles they have been on.

However, I will be careful of them in the future if everyone is having issues.
