So I went on and performed the head gasket replacement and resurfaced the head, new valve seals, gaskets etc. the head gasket I used was from “ same year, same model” engine. Keep in mind the civic engines are very interchangeable.
SO I re-assembled everything torqued to specs!
After everything was set I proceeded to start it! Started it was cold of course so there was a little high idle(normal on cold start).
Then it randomly starts surging like crazy and im like what in the coronavirus is going on!
SO I TRIPPLE CHECKED EVERYTHING FROM ALL THE SENSORS, SOLENOIDS, DISTRIBUTOR TIMING, TRIMMING BELT , you name it I check it !
(CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON!)
All you find on youtube is the want to be mechanics and technicians! All there good at is replacing parts with out actually understand the concept of these parts and how they all relate.
So 3 days deep I've triple checked everything and still nothing! So I decide to go on a road test and I notice it stabilizes in gear so after my 30 mile road test I decide to come back home! Passed all monitors and still surging in park and No check engine light!
SOMETHING IN MY HEAD TOLD ME TO DISCONNECT THE ACCELERATOR CABLE AND START THE CAR AND FINALLY AFTER 3 days after of checking everything SURE ENOUGH THE ***CABLE WAS KINKED*** just slightly enough to where the iacv was fluctuating due to the kinked cable!
BUT ALWAYS ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BASICS
VACCUM LEAKS
INJECTORS
CHECK FOR CODES IF YOU HAVE A CODE FOLLOW THE DIAGNOSIS PROCESS
BUT IF YOU DON’T CHECK your mechanicals and vacuum and supply hoses!
