i have a 91 integra, the positive battery cable is getting red hot from there and at the starter, the car shut off on me and the wires at the battery and at the starter were melting/smoking. any idea what could cause such a thing? im thinking the wires are exposed somewhere

 

When does it heat up and smoke?

Have you done anything to the electrical system lately, was the car running previous to this issue?

Could be a short in the starter solenoid?
