Default DC2 GSR (4x100) Hubs on 96spec ITR (4x114.3) rear trailing arms?

Hello,

I've been on the look out for a very clean set of disc trailing arms for my EG hatch, and found and bought some today. Everything looked great, 4 lugs, integra, good cables, hoses, etc. After further investigation, though, I discovered that they're from a 4x114.3 JDM ITR. Can I swap the hubs over to GSR hubs? I've searched and searched and the closest I've come across is maybe. Assuming the hub is the same diameter (which I've not been able to confirm) it seems like it should fit right?

I'm planning to replace the calipers and rotors anyways, so the odd size ITR stuff is going in the bin either way. I'd like to make this work if I can, but don't want to break them down if it won't work. Anyone know if the hubs can be swapped over?

Looks like you can go 4 lug to 5 lug using this strategy: https://www.d-series.org/threads/5-l...st-faq.156015/

Seems pretty promising... I guess I'm gonna give it a shot.

Still haven't found any links to anyone going 4x114.3 to 4x100 yet, but found another sample of going from 4x100 to 5 lug:
https://www.team-integra.net/threads...ersion.302865/

This thread suggests that the rear spindles (5 lug ones at least) are a bit longer on the ITR:
https://www.k20a.org/threads/5-lug-conversion.61445/

When going from 4 lug to 5 lug, you can apparently just use a thinner Mazda nut. Haven't found any specific clarification or confirmation on the length, if the 4x114.3 spindles are also longer like the 5 lug ones, or if there may or may not be enough thread on these longer spindles to retain a smaller bearing.

The 4x114 spindle shaft is the same size as the 4x100 hubs so you can easily swap to the original 4x100 lug pattern.

What you won't find is that the front Mazda axle nut is pretty much the same as a Honda front axle nut. The rear Mazda nut has a much wider flange and engages the threads about 1/4" more than oem rear nut. The thread starts right at the back compared to the gap the oem rear has. The Mazda nut will still be about 1/4" too long so it's up to you to decide if you want to run that way.

I'll try to get a picture of what it looks like using the rear nut and a comparison of the different nuts.

This one ends in unanswered questions:
https://honda-tech.com/forums/road-r...-bolt-3224391/

This suggests 4x100 and 4x114.3 hubs are interchangeable:
Hub conversion [Archive] - Ozhonda Forums

This suggests swapping from 5x114.3 EK9 hubs to 4x100 is common:
https://www.ek9.org/index.php?thread...ub-swap.69718/

Compiling info on this stuff hasn't been easy! Must not be a common conversion.

Nice! That's great news! Pics would be awesome, for the sake of having a clear and concise threat for others. I probably won't get started disassembling my trailing arms until next weekend, and won't have hubs to try till then either.

Either way, thanks for the info. I'll sleep better now. 😎

I have a pair of Beck/Arnley 1030504 on the way with the hubs. Not sure if I'll actually need it, but it sounds more similar to the Mazda nut from your description. I can hopefully reuse the stock nut it things don't fit OK because it's too long. Being a touch too tall won't bug me if it can be punched and fits under the dust cap, though.

The oem rear nut cannot be used. The oem front, Mazda front and Mazda rear are all the same length.

Why's that? If the 4x114 spindle shaft is the same size as the 4x100, shouldn't everything fit as it is?

Sorry I meant if trying to use the longer 5 lug rear hubs.

Ouch, not good news. I've got the arms disassembled and it looks like the 4x114.3 hubs have a bigger bearing like the 5x114.3 hubs.

The original hub lines up properly for the nut:

But I've got too much spindle for the 4x100 hub though:

Seems like I'd need some sort of washer or spacer to fill the gap there

It seems like I may be able to get away with something like this:

I swapped spindles with someone on here. Everything fit fine with the right ones. Sorry, I know that probably isn't as helpful as you might like. It didn't seem possible to sort out without potentially dangerous fitment.

I'd rather get an honest answer like you provided. Safety is a concern of mine as well. Hopefully I can get lucky and someone will trade or sell me a pair. This is one of those times when being in Canada is going to complicate things tho so pray for me 🤞🏻

I'm currently doing the same thing for another member but not sure if I have another set of 4x100 spindles right now.
