Help with codes.
I have a 92 LX 5 speed manual with 262k miles.
I bought the car for cheap and the engine has always shuttered when accelerating. Did some research and replaced the spark plugs & wires, cap & rotor, ignition coil, IACV, fuel filter, VSS, the O2 sensor in the manifold, cleaned up all grounds, bleed the cooling system and looked for a broken vacuum lines. This was a few thousand miles ago and the shutter is still there.
Recently 3 codes have popped up. 17-VSS, 8-TDC sensor and 41-oxygen sensor heater. When the check engine light is on, the engine takes a few extra revolutions to start. If idling long enough (maybe 10 mins), the temp gauge will rise almost to the max. Tried researching and didn't really find anything. I read the ECU could be the problem. Change that the other night and no change.
If sitting for a few hours or over night, it will start just fine and no CEL. After about 10 mins of driving, the engine will almost stall for a split second and then the CEL comes on. It won't rev over 3700 RPMs. I don't know if these 3 codes are from a common ground or power source that is causing the issues. Or maybe once a sensor or something gets warm enough then it will throw the codes. Any suggestions on what to do next?
