Horrible fuel economy?
I bought a 09 civic 1.8 engine, owner bought a porsche he said he always changed the oil 10k and only highway miles. 104k miles on it right now. The problem is I drove around 100 something miles and when I calculated I got around 25mpg highway only. I usually drive on the passing lane and people go around 80-90mpg. I do the mpg for heavy city driving and I get around 21.5mpg. I checked the google and I am supposed to get like 33mpg for city? I am confused. I always use the same pump I fill it max then reset the trip tracker I fill it up then divide the miles driven by the amount of gas I filled to max. I am pretty sure my calculation is correct. I don't slam on the gas all the time I definitely don't drive like a grandma but I am never really the fastest car on the road I just follow the cars in front of me. One example I recorded was 63 miles and I filled 2.91gal.
Also not sure if it is related but this car has a lot of engine braking when I let go off gas compared to my 05 chevy where there was literally zero engine braking when I let go of gas. It is like this car doesn't like it when you let go off the gas pedal, lol.
