1.3 electric gas misfire
2009 hybrid, misfire... Missing enough to make the check engine light flash. Code just says misfire on #2. Moved the coils around trying to pinpoint a bad coil. No luck. So the parts list started. Plugs, coils, map sensor, maf sensor, o² sensors, egr, air filter... Each time I replaced something all the lights would go off. 20 minutes down the road, check engine light, another 20 minutes vsa and the triangle warning light would join in... And a new code... It runs better with all the new parts but still around 25 to 45 mph I have a stutter.. and idle just plain sucks. (Before the lights come on it's great, after not so much)
what next guys?

Have the valves ever been adjusted? You replaced all 8 spark plugs with the OEM plugs? When was the last time the EGR passages were cleaned? These engines are sensitive to all of what I just mentioned.
Also were those all OEM sensors? Aftermarket parts are very hit and miss, mostly miss.

Yeah, all OEM. Cleaning the egr passages is something I didn't do, nor think of. I'm gonna have to research that. Any links to that information would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Egr passages did the trick! I appreciate the advice. Complete blockage, I had no idea that so much carbon could build up in there
now I have a high voltage to bank 1 sensor 2 o2 code. I guess all that carbon build up in the egr passages burnt up the new o2 sensors. Is it possible that just cleaning then will cure that? Or should I just get new? They are both only about a month since installation...
