Mixed info about transmission filters
I talked to my mechanic he said my 09 civic 1.8L has internal transmission filter so when I asked how often I should change my fluid, he said that I should change it every 30k to keep the fluid clean therefore filter because changing the internal filter is an expensive job basically.
I was just watching a video and this guy literally says and shows with diagrams and in person that filter is under the air filter and not internal so I am confused as to what is going on. Is there two different trans filters in the same transmission? Or is my mechanic wrong?
Now I am worried my mechanic is maybe not that good? or maybe he just mistaken it with older civics in the conversation? Because I randomly asked how often I should change the trans fluid nothing was wrong with it at the moment.

AT filter lasts the life of the car, there is no service time frame for it, although you can replace it if you want. 30k fluid change is probably on the aggressive side, I drain and fill 4x every 40k. Just recently pass 200k miles.
