2013 Accord excessive oil consumption
I have 2013 Accord I4 that is burning oil at a very high rate. This car consumed oil from the start. But not enough for Honda to do anything about it. It has recently started to consume about 1qt every 1000 miles. Car has 100k on it and has been maintained per maintenance minder. I use Royal Purple since new. Car has not been abused in any way...never redlined or anything. Heck, I have changed the transmission fluid 2x and its a manual. With the recent kick up in consumption, I replaced the PCV and that doesn't seem to have helped.
Anyone have similar issues and how did you deal with it. Been thinking about an engine flush incase the rings are stuck due to carbon build up. This seems to work wonders for the BMW oil consumption issues I have seen online.
I like to hold on to my cars for at least 200k, but at this rate, I don't think I'm going to hold on to this car. I can't put a quart of oil every 1000 miles.

Take it out, get it hot, and then drive the hell out of it. Lots of long wide open throttle mid to high RPM pulls. Go find a big hill and give it hell. These K series engines NEED to be loaded hard to make the rings seat properly. If they are babied they will consume oil.
Every single oil burning K and J series I have put my hands on cleared up after 2 weeks of high load driving.
Not saying bang in into the rev limiter every gear (you could it wouldn't hurt anything) but give it the beans every chance you get. Give the Italian tune up every time you drive it for a few weeks. I bet the problem of oil consumption goes away.

@Ryanthegreat1 Nothing to lose at this point...planning on selling it anyway. I may try the Liqui Moly engine flush too.

Have you changed the PVC valve? If not, change it.

1. Replace PVC valve
2. Use BG engine flush.
oil rings can get stuck with sludge, etc. free up the oil rings and oil consumption should drop significantly. Also PVC valve will allow oil burning as well.
i have 2014 accord sedan with similar problems. Performed the above and oil consumption stopped.

I've had the same problem. I have a 2013 4 cyl Accord with 160K. I replaced everything that normally requires replacing including PCV valve, plugs, and COP coils. I used Amsoil engine flush. Odd thing was that at first I was still burning oil but then it stopped for now. I also switched to Amsoil synthetic oil as I learned Amsoil is TRUE synthetic oil.
