98 civic - Weird engine noise, hopefully video will help (solved)
I thought I already made a post but apparently not, anyway this noise starts when my temperature gauge gets up about a quarter of the way and I have no idea what it could be

Does it still do it when fully warmed up?
You can use a mechanics stethoscope or even a very long screw driver and listen around on the motor to help pinpoint where the noise is coming from.

Its definately coming from the intake side of cylinder 2 and possibly 1 as well, with the screwdriver on the injectors it sounded normal, on the intake I could only occasionally hear the pop through the screwdriver so I think it's under the intake manifold, is there some kind of heat shield under it that in missing that could be making that sound?
If your screw driver is long you should be able to press the tip up to the head on the exhaust side and also the block. You need to find out if it is internal or external, and in the head or the block etc. Or if it's transmission or if it's accessory like AC condenser or alternator etc.
Personally I wouldn't warm it up to full heat, just enough it starts making the sound and quickly poke around listening to the stethoscope (screwdriver) until I pinpointed it.
The only heat shields I'm aware of are on the exhaust manifold and around the catalytic converter typically.

I completely forgot to update here, it was coming all across the engine, I took the vtec solenoid off and found it was constantly on due to a rock being jammed in there, I'm guessing a rock mightve gotten in there when I had the head apart, so I took that out and boom sound is now gone

That is a new one for me. I have not seen or heard of such a thing before now.
Glad it's fixed up and hopefully no permanent damage has occurred.
