There were alot of older threads with non working pictures on modifying the Spoon Rep mirrors for better visibility and none really on exactly how to do it with the powered version. So hopefully this helps someone who buys the Ebay special Spoon reps. Btw these were for my DC2 Integra but I assume would be similar for other models.
Step 1.
Heat gun. I used a Harbor Freight 14$ cheapo. Hairdryer could maybe work just would take longer. Heat up and apply pressure with your hand until mirror peels away.
Step 2.
Pop black plastic cover off. Did not take pictures of this step, but its just a black cover with 4 tabs that pop off exposing the motor unit.
Step 3.
Unscrew motor unit. Show below are 3 screw holes, just unscrew the screws and move the motor out of the way. NOTE: Highlighted in yellow are the 4 tabs that the Step 2 plastic cover attaches to.
Step 4.
Cut down the mounting posts. In my case, my driver side mirror needed to move higher up and farther left, so I cut the outermost and uppermost post down about an inch. Passenger side was basically the same, except I just needed more rightward movement so cut the outermost post down more.
For this I just used a pair of wire cutters, since space was tight. Then just threaded the screw in to clear out the hole.
Step 5.
Screw the motor back in.
Step 6.
Snap the plastic cover back on.
OPTIONAL STEP- I used like a 4-600 grit sandpaper and sanded down the inner side and corners of the mirror while it was out because it did tend to scrape the mirror housing before.
Step 7. Heat up the mirror and the cover and re adhere mirror.
And your done.
Passenger side was 100% improved, driver side I think I couldve cut down the posts a tad more but visibility still improved alot.
