Default 1988 Crankshaft

Hello all,

I'm working on a D15B2 from a 1988 Civic DX hatchback. It threw a rod so its in the machine shop. The crankshaft is bad beyond repair per the machine shop. I have found a couple on Ebay. One of the crankshaft was pulled form a D15B2 with an automatic transmission. Mine is a 5 speed. Does it matter if the crankshaft was pulled from an automatic donor? would it fit on mine? Thank you in advance for your advise.

transmission doesn't matter, however, since you have an 88, you need to determine which crankshaft your engine had - the D15B2 was available in 88 with two different crankshafts - some had a smaller 22mm snout on the front end where the pulley goes on and also fits the oil pump - 89 and up (and some 88's) had the larger 24mm snout - if you have the smaller snout, you will need an 88 with the smaller snout - otherwise any 89 and up (or 88 with 24mm snout) D15B2 crankshaft will work

Thank you so much for your response. I'll double check my crankshaft size and go form there!
