I have never known many people who actually read introductory posts. Where I moderate they are usually to determine whether the new user is a decent human being, a scumbag, or a spam bot. I am none of those. I am a tuba player. HAHAHA!!! (I have been told that tuba players are not decent human beings, but I will let you guys decide whether that applies to me.)
I am a professional symphony orchestra musician, full-time, for twenty-seven years now. Trust me, no one here has ever heard of my orchestra. It is a small market "regional orchestra", but the group is excellent, similar in quality to the smaller "major" symphonies in the US. (Many regional orchestras are NOT very good and have few if any, full-time players. This one is not like that. Anyway: WHATEVER. That is who I am.
I started wrenching seriously after my 2003 Jeep Wrangler threw a rod clean through the block in 2013. Since that time I have done nearly all my own work our all our vehicles, I have tooled up, I have learned tons of information, and I have discovered that I actually enjoy this work quite a bit.
• 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport S (mildly built)
• 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport (very built)
• 1990 Volvo 740
I am signing up to have conversations with people as I rebuild my 2001's F23A5 (non-VTEC) engine and flirt with doing a manual tranny swap as I hate the auto box. (My other vehicles are mostly manuals.)
I also hope to make some friends along the way. Here is a shot of the car that will be my main discussion topic. The 2010 will also be getting a lot of attention as it is the worst Accord I have ever owned and needs a lot of work just to get rid of it. The 2015 is jinxed and probably haunted, so it will be getting fixed up for sale, too, at some point. But the 2001 is a keeper; at 303,000+ miles it runs and drives better than either of the two newer ones. Go figure… This was a few years ago after some Civic paint, a lot of work, and hey! I painted the plastic wheel covers, too!
