Engine swap or turbo for d engine?
Hey everyone, I'm new here and I have a honda civic 2004 lx. My question is, should I swap it with a k engine (or any engine that is better than the d engine) or install a turbo? If possible, could you list the parts that are needed to complete this build, thanks!
Your chassis from what I've come to understand only has the two real options that are relatively straight forward. K series or turbo. I'm not sure if you can do K series and turbo in that chassis but that might be a third but most expensive option.
Which direction you decide to go will be dependent on your budget and desired goals.

Do your research, you can build the d series to hold a moderate amount of power with a turbo setup but you will.not be breaking any records and you might be upset with the end result. You can end up spending thousands of dollars for a mediocre engine that barely holds 300hp. With a couple grand more you can go K SERIES and with the right modifications you could pull 600hp easy. Like other users say it is really up to you based on your skill set, time available, resources, and desired results.
