*some background*: so my friend wanted to buy a beater one day because we were building his racecar (g35 sedan) and he needed a daily to commute to wherever.
he gave me two choices out of the cars he found.
either a manual camry or a Honda Civic.
obviously I went full fanboy when it was a decent looking Ef hatch and convinced him to buy it..........
500$ car just needed a fuel pump with 290k 300k on the clock but this car had been passed around more times than a high school cheerleader.
originally had a d15b2 dpfi in it but it ate through 2 sets of bearings in a span of a couple months before it seized up and died.
Went back to square one and pulled a d16y7 that was originally from a riced out autotragic mess from the junk yard but the motor was fresh enough so we ran it off dpfi for a couple months and that motor died by eating a bearing and trashing the bottom end again.
By this time we were done with the g35 and he wanted to swap a Y8 and complete the original plan to swap it to obd1 but after that mess he said **** the car because its cursed so I bought it off him and now Im starting my own build with this shell.
I really really like Hondas (done right) so I decided to not give up on this car and bring it back to life. D16y7 and a d15b2 short block for parts I Will take a picture with the engine in the car, i finished the swap around dinner time yesterday and I plan on doing a lot more things in the morning
