2002 Honda CR-V no crank no start.
Last week I brought a 2002 crv Awd and after running beautifully for about 2 days, it won’t crank. All the lights turn on when I put the key in accessories position. The headlights and dash lights both turn on. All it does when I go to turn it over is click. I have a brand new battery in it. And I just had the starter tested at autozone. They said it checks out fine and now I don’t know what to do. The immobilizer light is also off. Brought the vehicle for my finance and 2 children and need advice ASAP. Thank you Honda community.
How did they test the starter without taking it out. Doesn't sound proper.. The starter is the most common issue here assuming a good battery. I have replaced many older crv starters . Rock auto or amazon usually is my parts source. Your description of the problem sounds all to familiar. The starter circuit on a CRV is pretty simple. And the immobilizer doesn't really figure into the actual starter circuit. The immobilizer only communicates with ECM and well render the fuel injection inoperative if the correct key is not used. If you confirm the battery is good and the cables are good then the only other thing would be the starter. The high amperage switch or what would normally be called a solenoid is within the starter body itself and it's pretty common for the contacts to wear out.
Read through this thread I posted allot of info on the starter circuit and so on.
The repair ....starter replaced, problem solved.

Jayden, if you do it from the bottom (the approach that I am taking), these are the tools that you will need
STARTER REPLACEMENT TOOLS REQUIRED
12 MM
14 MM
17 MM
1&1/16 FOR KNOCK SENSOR (1&1/16 INCH 27 MM)
There is a fairly good video fo the process here:

Remember to disconnect the battery first!!
