Default Loss of Power

I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX. Periodically while driving it will lose power and start down shifting. The engine will stay running but the car will not go over 25mph. There is no power and when pressing the accelerator it will just jump down a gear and rev without transferring any power to forward motion. This first started when I blew the radiator, so I thought it was some sort of a safety sensor that was set off by overheating. The radiator has since been replaced but the problem continues and now it does it when the car is running at a normal temperature. I am suspecting that this is some sort of a sensor or relay that needs to be replaced but I'm not sure where to start. The car hasn't thrown any codes that indicate what it might be.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Has anyone here been able to resolve an issue like this?

Default Re: Loss of Power

My car was doing this and it turned out to be the alternator.
