Default '09 Accord In Limp Mode. Any advice please!

2009 Honda Accord 2.4l Vtech Automatic trans 223,000

So for starters I am mechanically inclined and have been a "backyard mechanic" since i was like 5 years old working with my dad and grandfather who were both master mechanics so i can do damn near anything tells me may be an issue lol. So now thats out of the way on to the problem.

Last week my wife took the car to go to the store. She stopped for gas and then called me and said the CEL came on. I told her to come home. I figured I'd check the gas cap (itd happened before) but before she made it home she said it wouldnt accelerate over 20 mph...limp mode. And i checked the gas cap and it wasn't loose.

So the check engine light was blinking I did some research and google said most likely a misfire. So i babied it up the local parts store to read the codes (my reader was borrowed and never returned &#128530 I got codes for misfires in 2nd and 3rd cylinder and 2 random misfires also for crankshaft positioning sensor. So while at the store i picked up the sensor spark plugs and ignition coils. (I had never changed the coils and the car was due to have the plugs done last month)

When i got home I pulled about a gallon of gas out and put it in a clear jar to see if that was the issue (figured I could return the parts if it was) miniscule am out of water separated so i threw a bottle of Heet in. Let the car run and occasionally revved it a bit for almost an hour. Nothing. So replaced the plugs, coil packs, CPS.

Nothing.

The car doesnt have a rough idle it idles seemingly well around 7-800 RPMs when warmed up. But once i drop it in gear (AT) and give it gas once it hits almost 1500 rpm it starts misfiring and will not accelerate past about 20 mph and wont go over 3000 rpm (hence the limp mode). After some more talking to some mechanics and even speaking to a honda technician it was brought up about a fuel filter. Well mine is integrated into the pump.

Replaced that.
So now with all these parts replaced still nothing has worked. I have seen other threads talking about oil pressure or resetting the ECU.

Can anyone lend any more ideas before i go crazy?

Thanks!

Codes read for misfires and CPS
Changed Spark Plugs, Ignition Coils,CPS, and fuel pump.

Are you able to get your Honda mechanic friend to put the HDS tool on it and get a read on the sensors.

Did the MIL come back on and start flashing again?
Also, when you took out the plugs what would you say the fuel burn looked like based on the residue?

If the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor is emmiting an incorrect temp reading, the fuel mix could be wrong and cause misfires, even though no code is present. Also HO2S's that are failing but still somewhat functioning will cause an incorrect mixture leading to a missfire.
if you have a bluetooth ODD2 reader and Torque app on your smartphone you can see all the sensory data

Hey brother I definitely feel you going crazy with these issues. I have an 08 Accord had codes for multiple misfires that will make it go on limp mode. I replaced everything you replaced and still nothing. Kept doing some more research and i came across the O2 sensor. I replaced that. Turned the vehicle on, attempted to drive did the same thing. Parked it. Turned it off cleared the codes. Turned it back on and it ran perfectly and no codes came back on. Took it for a drive and everything checked out. I hope this helps you!
