Default Front wheel hubcentric rings don't fit

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for some input as I haven't used hubcentric rings in the past. This is for a 91 Crx Si and the hub rings don't sit flush with the hub due to there being a second lip that's bigger than the 56mm hub size. This lip seems to be roughly 60mm maybe a little bigger (batteries in my micrometer are dead). The hub rings have the correct 56.1mm inner diameter and then the appropriate outer diameter for my rims. Do I just need different hub rings that have a steeper taper so it'll clear that larger ~60mm lip? These are new hubs and unfortunately, I already threw out the old ones so I don't have those to compare.

This is one of the rear hub rings which sit flush

Thanks for your time

Your brake rotor will cover the larger hub bore.

Do you see how the lug nuts taper? This is because the wheels are lug centric. Hub centric lug nuts have a flat mating surface. If you follow the proper method to torque your wheels, you will not need a centering ring.

Not exactly true, yes that will sort of work but Hondas are designed to be hub centric. Notice the big meaty rubber in the background? Hub centric is the way to go. And bonus points for using an aluminum adapter, plastic spacers will melt with elevated brake tempratures.

I run 9.5x15 wheels with Hoosier A7 245/40ZR15, do not run hub centric rings and do not have any issues. If you really want to see if using a hub centric adapter makes any different, pull out your dial indicator, mount the wheel and measure it both with and without the adapter. I have done this as I had a new wheel arrive warped from the factory. I can say in my case, there is no measurable difference in using the adapter.
