Tach for RPM on DX
hey guys im new to manual and honda cars in general, i recently picked up a 140,000 original mile DX 2000 civic for dirt cheap to learn manual in. My only thought so far on it is the tach not having a RPM cluster, ive read a few of these threads on it and people say to buy a Si or Ex cluster and just swap the original odometer with the miles to the Ex cluster. So my question is can i use any Ex cluster from any year or does it have to be 99-00 since i know some body panels are like that, Thanks.
You can use any 96-2000 cluster from an LX, EX, SI(SiR in Canada) or any JDM or EDM Cluster.
You can swap your speedo over if you want, but note that some clusters have different color needles, backgrounds, fonts, etc so a full speedo swap might not match the other three gauges. Swapping just the odometer or rolling the new odometer to the correct miles to match your car is simple and there are a lot of youtube videos on this process. Again, check youtube as there are a lot of videos showing the process.

To add onto what @Feriohhh said, you can also use 97-01 Honda CRV clusters as well. They offer a different look than the usual 96-00 non-Si clusters.
