I accidentally broke one of the engine cover stud on my 2004 Honda CRV while replacing the engine cover gasket. It seems I over tightened the bolt..... am going to order a new stud "part #90011-PNA-003". I would assume the bolt need to be turn counterclockwise to remove it. And I will need a deep socket 12mm to remove it. Right? I tried a few times and the bolt is pretty tight, and I am afraid that I will broke the bolt..... Any suggestions on how to safely remove the bolt? Really don't want to break the engine....
Thank you.
I think what you will get is all one bolt as the stud is part of it. So you will remove the bolt with a deep socket and install the new one and torque it to 16 ft/lbs

Thank you for the reply. The bolt in the repair manual you sent is a little different from the bolt in the 1st 2 part picture. It seems to me the bolt in the repair manual has a 8mm end at bottom? Is the part number I referred the correct one?
Any extra caution I need to have while removing the stud bolt. I am afraid I broke the bolt stud of the bottom then total the engine... Would a wrench like this will work or you think a deep socket suit best for the job.
It should only be at 16 ft/lbs so you don't need an impact; a breaker bar is best but a ratchet will crack it loose. But you will need to torque it so go buy a deep socket 90011-PNA-003 that is the part number i show in the previous post . There are 5 of those in the head holding the cam in place .

thanks! I ordered the parts and also a 12mm deep socket and a torque wrench. Hopefully I can get it replaced tomorrow.
