Default 2000 crv ignition

I had surgery I. July and haven’t been driving. I lost the keys so I figured I’d get a new ignition cylinder no big deal. Well all I find is a whole ignition option no where can I get just the cylinder with a new key. So from what I gather the key has a chip which I assume is why I need to buy that while part. Now in the parts description it says the keys are non programable. Has anyone experienced this before. If searched for answers and can’t find any info I just don’t wanna spend 200 dollars and install this amd still not be able to drive the car. I have no idea where the keys are any help would be appreciated thanks much guys. Btw I am knowledgeable about cars a have built a few d series stock and otherwise.

No immobilizer system is listed for the 2000 CR-V. It does not have the chipped (transponder) key.

Go to the Honda dealership and have them cut you some keys from the VIN. Going to be the cost of the key blanks. Less than $20 for those early keys. Just take your license and the registration for the vehicle to prove ownership.

Super easy and far less work than replacing a lock cylinder and then not having a key for the doors.
