Civic stalls
I have a 2011 Honda Civic LX with manual transmission. Earlier this year, it started stalling while turning on days with the temperature 60° and above. It always started immediately after stalling. It also did not run steadily. The mass airflow sensor was replaced. Within a week the check engine light was back on with the same lean fuel code. The fuel pump was then reset. The check engine light came back on with the same code. I had been using cheap gas, but I changed to good gas. After I did that, the engine quit completely dying, but it still did not run steadily and it would hesitate during acceleration. Then They replaced the fuel pump. It’s still running unsteadily, hesitating with acceleration, acting like it was going to die with the RPMs all over the place. I took it back again it had the same code. They did the 105 thousand mile tuneup with valve adjustment and it was a little better, but it still hesitated somewhat and the check engine light came back on with the same code. Then they replaced the oxygen sensors. It has run great since then. it doesn’t hesitate, it has good acceleration, it’s back to 35 miles per gallon city, no complaints. Then last week it hesitated a little one day, the next day when it was about 57 (it had been colder than that) While I was driving about 40 mph and accelerated the car shut off/stalled. I would not of even known it except I noticed that I had lost power steering and the RPMs were zero. It started up immediately while I was still moving. I did not need to even pull over. I took it to the dealer and it did not throw any codes and the check engine light had not come on so they were really not able to tell me much. They said to bring it in for diagnostics, but in the past this problem will not do it when it’s at the mechanics. does anyone have any ideas about other things that could possibly be going on that are causing this ? other than this it’s been a great car and I really like it and I don’t want to get rid of it. I would rather fix it but I don’t know what to fix.
