Default 98 Accord Aftermarket Remote Start Issues

Hi all,
I bought my 98 back in 2014 and it's been an absolute tank. However, awhile back I had to replace the ig switch, as the mechanical end of the switch was no longer staying in the proper position, turning the car off. The car had an aftermarket remote start system in it when I had bought it. Wanting to keep it, I spliced the wires into the new switch just as they had been in the old one. Took pictures beforehand and double checked the wiring with the manual online. After reinstalling the remote start harness connector, I reinstalled the battery. It was at this point the remote start system would engage with no remote commands having been issued. The starter just kept rolling over until the system reached its no start reset limit, and carried on again after reset. I just pulled the harness to stop the issue, and disable the remote start. The harness is still wired into the ignition switch, just disconnected, and the car starts and runs fine as is. Checked all related fuses and relays, including the ones in the harness. Nothing blown or malfunctioning. I'm guessing that the aftermarket system probably needs to be reprogrammed somehow. But I come here for answers, and maybe there's something simple I'm missing, so any help is appreciated.
