Whining noise from timing belt area
Hello everyone.
I recently had noise inside timing belt cover, as rpm goes up noise is louder. Replace tensioner becouse i think is bad and now i had whining noise only when not ascelerating. As soon i touch gas whining stops and starts again when motor bulid rpms. Also losened tensioner and everithing is the same. I haven't replaced the water pump but if the bearing is inside it would always be heard. Engine is d14a1 with only alternator (no ac or ps) which belt is removed. Did anyone have this problem?

Same here. I just replaced all the belts, timing belt tensioner, and water pump. No change. Does the squealing change in tone or at all when you turn on the headlights or use something with a big power draw?
I had a similar issue w/ the timing when my D16 was still in there. Once the timing belt was tensioned properly and the tensioner torqued down it would make noise. I attributed it to using a cheaper (Gates) timing kit over OE parts.
Follow the timing belt tension steps from the factory manual. If it still makes noise replace the tensioner with an OE part. Also replace the tensioner spring too, its hard to get the right tension with an old spring.

Its hard to get oe part in my country... I try to tightened and losened tensioner and its weird that only on asceleration stops. And its not timing cover, today i take off and same
You want to make sure it's not over tensioned. How are setting the tension?
This thread has the steps to set it: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...nsion-2270045/
If it's still noisy and tension is set right, you'll need a new tensioner. Mine was noisy at idle only too, at higher engine speeds you won't notice the noise.
