Honda was jumped but will not start
Hi guys
due to the pandemic, Honda has not been started in months.
Today I went to start it, would attempt to start but not turn over.
Then I thought "I paid all that money for my jump starter, so why not use it?"
Now the lights inside the car started to work (confirming jump started is correctly connected) BUT still, honda would not turn over.
Here is the thing: at first it would try to start, but fail. But then after a few tries, it will not even TRY to start. it's like there is a protective mechanism that is not allowing it to start. when I turn the key, it makes a scary/weird sound but that's it.
then I thought maybe my jump starter is a piece of garbage and connected 2 cars the old-fashioned way. same result as above. It will not even attempt to start. it makes that weird noise and that's it.
I am reading online that if you attempt too many times to start, you will burn the starter.
based on these symptoms, did I just burn the starter?
