Hey guys,

I've been AWOL since about 2017 I guess. What happened?

In that year my mother's health went south in a big way, we got her stabilized and "back up" but in 2018 her Alzheimer's really got bad. I moved back in with my parents in Dec. of 2018 to take care of her, not realizing she wasn't going to get better. She was completely bedfast for 11 months, my father and I doing everything for her (mostly me doing it as dad wasn't able to do much). She passed on in July of 2019.

The summer of 2018, while mom as briefly in a nursing home (dad believed the rehab there would help her), I took the time to go see my mail-order-bride in Indonesia. So a few months of planning and then a whirlwind of a 2 week stay in Indonesia. I love flying and meeting new people so the trip to and fro was a lot of fun in itself. I spent a day on the beach of Rakata, the main island of the infamous volcano Krakatoa. (Four months later the new volcano collapsed, washing that beach we were on completely away, and killing 1000 people on Java and Sumatra). Timing is critical!

This summer I have been crazy busy doing P90X and taking on manual labor projects from people. I'd never really done that but it was a lot of fun to use the tools and skills I'd bought and learned fixing my own stuff over the years. The P90X exercise routine was amazing, I did the entire program, and got results people noticed and mentioned. However I pulled a muscle and had to stop for the time being.

Back to my Accord....she has sat since 2018 and I still haven't gotten the fuel and brake lines replaced but as soon as spring arrives again I plan to get onto her. She is up on blocks though, wheels stored.

The current volcano, Anak Krakatau (Son of Krakatoa) which erupted every 3 minutes we were there. Rakata is in the background, the lower pic is the collapse which killed so many.


First pic of us together when I arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia. Four years we emailed, chatted, called, and finally met! She hated my hat for some reason, saying "you look like a tourist!" I have no idea what she was talking about. LOL
