Intermittent Electrical Issue
2002 Accord EX V6
All steering wheel controls and horn intermittently go out. Is not a fuse issue...already checked. Seems like a short, but I wanted to inquire before tearing the entire steering assembly apart. Additional issue (may not be related), vent controls sometimes will get stuck on floor only...then intermittently I will be able to change vent output. Display on center console will change images, but vent output will not change. Again, both issues are intermittent without user intervention.

If there's a short, + to -, that should blow a fuse. More likely a common connection like + or - not making a connection. Is it when the steering wheel is in a certain position?
The steering wheel I cannot guess at, except as you indicated, the wheel column needs to be taken apart to see if something has worn through and is broken now. For the vent controls, I would guess the vent actuator motor, it seems like the more common item to me. It's on the driver's side of the center console, down low but visible without taking anything apart if you can get your head squeezed in there.
It's going to look like this

I couldn't find a video of it on an Accord, but if you look at this video of an Odyssey, it's in a similar place to help give you some reference.

Does not seem to be positional (although I will do some more testing.)
I will turn car on and sometimes no horn or audio/cruise controls work...drive for a bit and horn and controls will work. Then when I turn the car off/on again, loss of function...or it sometimes happens just while driving.
Will report back after I have tested any positional issues.
As for the vent controls, I will check the motor and any relay stuff in that circuit...ty for the info.
