Default Countershaft Sensor Connector

I have a first gen crv where the connector to the countershaft sensor is missing and the wires are ripped out. I’m trying to replace it, but the red wire actually encases another blue wire that has stranded wire wound around it. Anybody have advice on how to retire this connection?

Did you mean the crankshaft position sensor? There is a repair harness that you can buy at RockAuto https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/honda,1998,cr-v,2.0l+l4,1315673,electrical-connector,crankshaft+position+sensor+connector,256 8

Thanks for the help. The crankshaft position sensor is actually a different sensor than the countershaft speed sensor (I think...I'm 100% not an expert on this). That said, I did get a picture of the connection from a user in a different forum. I was probably unclear in my question. I actually already have a new connector but was unsure how to run the wires. The picture I got helped as the vehicle wiring colors are different than the wiring colors on the aftermarket connectors. For example, that connector you linked as two white wires! I was also confused by the shielded wire (red on the outside blue on the inside). I did ultimately look at the Honda wiring diagram and they show the blue wire as the actual wiring color.

RD1 CRV has a B20 engine and has no balancer shaft or countershaft. It has a sensor for the crank and a sensor in the distributor for the cam timing. The 2.4 in the RD2 and beyond uses a chain driven balancer ( 2 counterrotating) in the crankcase oil pump assembly, but no sensors for this.. there is a countershaft in the transaxle...is that what your talking about? Best way to fix is get a chuck of harness at a wrecking yard and splice it in .

I think I have it sorted out at this point. A junkyard around here that would actually let me wander onto the lot to cut out a part would have been an easy solution. As best I can tell no such thing exists around here anymore.

You may be right about the whole countershaft thing - I really don't know. I'm just talking about the senor that the Honda Shop Manual calls the "countershaft speed sensor" for my 1999 CR-V.
