Default Lose power to climate control

My daughter has a 1999 4 cylinder Accord that doesn't always have power to the climate control panel on dash. Since it's been cold, the power is off more than on. When the panel doesn't light, the rear defrost doesn't work and the A/C won't work. Fuses 3 and 13 in the under-dash fuse box are ok. The blowers function as well.

I pulled the car into the driveway this morning, and the panel was lit and everything was working. As I was contemplating where to start with the engine running, the rear defrost working, and the front defrost running, the light flickered on and off a few times and then went off permanently. The car was parked in the driveway when this happened. I noticed the sound of a relay clicking I think behind the glove box. I'm about to pull that off, but has anyone else encountered this problem before? I doubt it's the relay and possibly a bad connection along the way.

I think the climate control panel may be bad. I verified I have power to the panel, and I can unplug the panel and plug it right back in and it runs for a bit and then cuts back out.

Happened to me as well, I simply bought another one off ebay and replaced. About $70-$100

Some people have taken them apart and repaired with soldering, which you could always try first. Just reheat all the joints and see if that fixes it (or see if there is any obvious damage). I was lazy in my case.
