Default 88DX D15B MPFI/VTEC conversion questions

The original engine and head on my project DX died pretty hard so I picked up a new engine at a JDM spot that turned out to be a D15B, complete with MPFI intake. It had a D16Y8 head on it, but incomplete, although I'm sure I could find a replacement for that. Is it possible to get this sort of head running with the original DPFI intake while I gather parts for a full MPFI conversion or will I need to do that conversion right off the bat? Also would I need to be doing the full VTEC conversion as well or is that something I could wait on? Would it make more sense to just get a D15B2 head to throw on there?

Yes, you can run the DPFI intake as long as you use the DPFI distributor and ECU as well. You can wait to wire in VTEC...if you are keeping the DPFI setup, you'll have no choice.
