Default D15z6 Minime-swap

Hi all! Im doing a minime swap with d15z6 block and d16z6 head i was wondering about the springs and retainers/forged internals need for my build

my specs are

-D16z6 Head

-ported intake manifold

-Custom milled cam (ex owner says he made 150hp with it)

-Stock D15z6 block

-p28 chipped ecu.

-Aem camgear

-y8 headgasket

my question is: if i would be running about 140-160hp on the motor with the custom cam. Should i run titanium retainers and aftermarket valvesprings? And do i need forged rods for the build? And if i need them can i just use brian crower valvesprings with stock retainers?

i guess it would depend on the custom cam, the lift and duration you would have to figure that out to see if you really do need to upgrade. if you think its more on the aggressive side i would get springs and retainers tho. better safe than sorry. personally i dont think you need forged rods or anything unless your boosting it but this is an all motor page. other people on here know farrrrr more than me and can give you a scientific answer. that's just my two cents. good luck man

It depend cam acceleration (highest peak after maximum lift) and valvetrain mass, together with engine speed. Stronger valvesprings are usually needed when forces increased drastically. Ti-retainers are for weight save because every single gram count in moving components. Good cromo-retainers are lightweigth too, least enough for most setups.
In N/A use, I’m would not worried about stock rods. Pistons and rod bolts are usually weakest link.

Hello
I have a Honda Civic Ek3 1.5 (vtec-e D15z6)
Is it possible to fit a D16y8 or D16z6 VTEC solenoid to a D15z6 head without adding other parts
And what do I need for mini-me?
Thanks...

Not here to answer but to ask.

What timing belt did you use with the 15z to 16z headswap? And what other bits and pieces did you use?
The only truly comprehensive guide i found of a mini-me swap was about putting a z6 head on a b7 block (or something like that..)

i already know a y8 gasket would be better, need a P28 ecu with obd2 to 1 harness, and that im going to need a different belt. But the B7 being non vtec his project probably involved some connectors that i wont need, and the z6 bottom end could be different aswell..

edit: spelling
