blew up my friends H22A
Hello guys, recently I blew up my friend's H22A (money shifted). i wanted to ask which internal parts are interchangeable with other engines (i.e. rods, pistons, cams, bearings etc.). Thanks in advance.
Here's a list of the different engines in the H series so you can look and see what might be needed:

My advice, take it for what it's worth, is to simply get parts from the exact same engine to keep things simple. I only say this because it's really easy to be "close" and then another part is "close" and so on, and the next thing you know, it doesn't fit, you spend a bunch to make it work, and at the end of the day, it would have been better to simply replace the whole engine as one piece rather than muck around trying to fix it with a bunch of random parts.
However, at the same time, I do understand that the motor is a little more expensive to get vs others like an accord f23a engine. Looking on Ebay, I see about as good as you will get is maybe $1600 or so for a complete engine.

Good luck in your endeavor.

Right, that's why I sent you the link, so you can go through it, know which ones match, which ones don't. At this point, it sounds like you don't know which items are broken, so an exhaustive list of every compatible part across every engine is extra data. Take it apart, figure out what's broken, then you can look at that list and see which parts from which engines will work. Also, once you call into junkyards to find out what's available they will cross-reference that part and tell you it at the time. See, the problem often is parts might also work depending on what someone might be willing to do, and some parts come with other issues. For example, lets take an exhaust manifold. There might be a lot of them that fit, however, what you might find out is that although "x" manifold will fit instead of the original "y" manifold, it causes the engine to have less horsepower because its' more restrictive, or it might be that it needs a different O2 sensor as well, and then you find the next part of the exhaust doesn't fit because it's a different length. That's what I mean about going into the specifics, find out exactly, then research not just what fits, but what also might be needed. I hope this makes sense, trying to save you some headaches here.
[personally, this is why I don't try to do this any longer as I find this happens much more often than you think, a year change of a manifold, or a regionaly change and the wiring doesn't work, so I just swap engines today in my life. But that's me, and I am adding this to help explain where I am coming from, not telling you what to do].
Just start taking it apart, measure, and see what you need to replace.
