Default Bad harness blowing ECU

My harness was all jacked up and shorted out. we think it was the fuse box module that we replaced and we repaired the harness. without the harness the car gets power if I turn the key now. im just worried that now that we touched everything electrical for the most part now that after wiring it up and plugging in the ecu it might blow the ecu if something shorts. I have a chipped p28 and I think a p07 as well as a p28 with s300. the s300 is my main ecu I definitely don't want blown up. would it be a good idea to try and start the car with one of the others? its a stock b20b with a 5 speed transmission

Yup. Save the s300 ECU just in case... crank it with another stock style ECU and see if all seems OK. If so, THEN switch back to the s300.
