A few months ago, I bumped the curb while parking and the fan/blower stopped working. I don't know the exact term for the fan, but it's the interior heating/cooling fans. Now, whenever I turn on the heat, it doesn't blow out; I can just feel a little bit of heat trickling out of the vent.
Does this issue sound familiar to anyone here? I'd be really grateful if anyone could share their expertise.
1. Check under-hood Fuse No. 21 (40A) and under-dash Fuse No. 30 (7.5A).
2. If those fuses are okay, unplug the connector to the blower motor. With the ignition switch in the ON position, test for power on the Wht/Blu (white colored wire with blue stripe).
3. If there is power on the blower motor Wht/Blu wire; use a spare piece of wire and insert one end into the the blower motor connector's Blu/Blk wire cavity terminal and the other end of the wire to bare metal chassis ground. If the motor runs like this with the ignition ON, the blower motor is good. Plug the connector to the motor back in.
4. If everything else listed above is okay, then the issue is due to the ground side of the blower motor circuit.
5. Unplug the connector to the blower power transistor. With the spare piece of wire, jump the harness connector cavity terminal with the Blk wire to the Blu/Blk wire terminal.
Turn the ignition ON, if the fan runs, the cause may be a faulty blower power transistor.
