Default Radiator Fan Strange Behavior

1995 Accord EX Sedan
Engine cold, not started in last 24 hours, ignition off,fan running. To prevent the battery run down, I disconnected it. At the moment that was the easiest thing to do.
The next morning when it was time to resume work on various issues, battery reconnected, the fan did not come on.
It continued to not run inappropriately for that day. The next morning it was running again, same situation. [Note that engine has not been run up to temperature for several days.] Disconnected again.
Reconnected the battery after a short time spent tending to other issues, the fan did not come on and remains off for the last 24 to 36 hour.
I do not know yet if the fan will run when it is supposed to (when the engine is hot) as I have not run the engine up temperature, only hot enough to check the cooling system (the other issue I was working on and have resolved, I hope).

So, I'm looking for any guidance anyone can offer. I may pull the relay and bench test it, or wait until/if this problem recurs and swap out with the PW relay.
Any suggestions/wisdom?
Thanks

If it was an intermittently shorting radiator fan relay, you can easily swap the power window relay with it now and see if the issue still occurs (both relays are the same type and are located next to each other in the under-hood fuse/relay box).

If it is not an intermittently shorting radiator fan relay, the cause is probably due to the radiator fan control module (located behind the glove box).

The behavior, coming on in the middle of the night, or other times when the engine is cold and not run for hours, leads me to believe the problem is in the control module.
from the pic it looks like this is probably a an unplug and plug-in replacement.

Searching on-online all I see is Hayden replacement controllers that look generic and come with a bunch stuff that gives me doubt they will fit smoothly in the 95 accord. The look like they are made for retro-fit applications where no module has gone before. The prices aren't bad, but . . ..

Do I have to go to the dealer for this? Any guidance?

Thanks.

@GWT I bought one off ebay ($15), but you can also check junkyards, there's plenty of CD5s laying around. And more than likely, with other parts this generation, this part was used on a bunch of other "Hondas", both Civic and Acura (Legend/integra).

I am having a similar issue. If I turn the ignition to on, then off without starting the car, the fan starts running, the fans don't even blow when the car is running unless the a/c button is pressed or it's at operating temperature; I was under the impression the radiator fan should always be on if the engine is running, though.

Yeh, found some on Ebay.
I believe you're right about running all the time while engine at temp. (That has been my experience.) Timer keeps it running for up to 10 min after engine off.

Question about the ECT Switches A & B. The testing procedure indicates A has different operating/switching temperatures.Been looking for replacement switches, just in case, but do not find any differentiation in temperature switching specs for any of them. In fact, no specs at all.
??
They must be different switches, right?
