SRS Light on - how to diagnose & fix?
Hi,
We have a 1996 Honda Accord and the SRS airbag light is on all the time.
What is the best way to diagnose the problem and fix it?
Airbags have not been activated.
At first the light was coming on intermittently but now on all the time.
Someone has suggested that 90% of the time it is to do with seat-belt connections(?),
is there anywhere else we should first start looking?
Thanks.

I think on that Accord, SRS is all about the airbags. Seatbelt has its own dash indicator.
You might check for a fuse, but ideally, you need get the computer hooked up to a scanner to see what it shows. I have no idea if a normal tool at Autozone, Advance Auto, etc., would show anything about airbags on a 96 Accord.
Another possibility is a short, or broken solder connection on the circuit board in the dash that controls that light. As they age, some solder connection separate and end up in permanent open, or closed, position. Capacitors can also leak or burst and cause problems with dash indicator lights.

It's possible it's the SRS module itself.

You could see if you can reset it first, but that would be my guess.
