Default Assistance Needed: Choosing an A/C compatible turbo exhaust manifold for B-series

Hi friends,

I've been looking for an AC compatible manifold for my B18A1. I've done some research about air conditioning compatible turbo manifolds, and I've read that you should purchase an 'ac compatible' manifold.... after looking around I found that 'ac compatible' manifolds are heellla expensive. Like $1000 where I live (Western Australia).

I'd much rather purchase a ramhorn manifold from ebay such as this one here (much cheaper and looks awesome for airflow): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/T3-Turbo...frcectupt=true

My question is, would this manifold work with AC with a B18A1 and if not, what's stopping it? I've head that you can grind the block away to allow for more space, which I am more than happy to do. Legit cannot survive without ac here in Australia so any advice would be much appreciated.

You must heat warp the turbo manifold and turboblanket the turbo. Also you need a small form turbocharger even better cerami coated both the turbo and turbomanifold. Id say talk with Greg from Go-autoworks.

Agree with everything you said. Talk to Greg @ Go-Autoworks - he will ship international. He offers an AC compatible cast manifold (cheap and works well) and tubular welded AC compatible manifolds. At least with the cast manifold, I think you need to stay T04B compressor with T3 turbine or smaller.

Here is an option:
InlinePRO B-series T3 Stainless Steel A/C Compatible Turbo Manfold - Inline Performance Products

Lots of people have used these. There is also a knock off brand, Blox, that makes a copy of this manifold. For this, I think you have to cut a notch in the block webbing for the compressor side of the turbo, which is on the opposite side of the A/C compressor. The exhaust side of the turbo and downpipe go on the A/C compressor side . Inline pro also has a downpipe they make for this turbo manifold in their kit, but I think you can purchase one separately for about $500 last I saw. The heat wrap on the downpipe is easy to install, and costs about $20.

PFAB ac compatible manifold with 2.5" downpipe... If I knew I would have more room I would have went with a bigger turbo and down pipe
