Default P28-L51 - Auto ECU to Manual Question

Hey guys,

I've done my share of research of converting Automatic ECU's and all of them call for removing RP17 & RP18 resistors and replacing the RP18 with a wire.

I get that.

However, when I open up my ECU, it appears that I do not have a resistor for RP18 from the factory. Can anyone advise? Is the procedure the same - take out RP17 and stick a wire in RP18?

For reference, this is a P28 - L51 ECU.

History of the P28 ECU? It appears that someone already removed RP18.

As far as I know (and who knows the guy can be lying) it's untouched. But it doesnt appear that way because RP18 is removed...are there no versions of the P28 automatic without RP18?

Consider returning ECU for a refund.

Alternatively, desolder RP17, and jump RP18 with a wire. Then go from there.

Unfortunately, a refund is out of the question.

I'll just go ahead and jump RP18 and remove RP17 and hope for the best.
