Hey guys! I'm trying to remove the trunk/seat trim from the back of my 2000 accord (See attached Picture). I'm trying to transport something that will fit if they are removed. I'm not sure how or if they come out at all, but was hoping someone could give me insight on this. They seem unnecessary, but I could definitely be wrong. Thanks!
I saw a guy cut a roof off a car, that doesn't mean it wasn't important
Just kidding a bit, I've always wondered about that area, as my Civic didn't have it, and so I could fit more in that car than this Accord. But if I can cut it out, I may do that, my Accord is like my work truck (if I had a work truck).

do not cut it out it is there for lateral and vertical strength all around structure for the car. If it wasnt honda would not have welded it in.
but it is your car. You could remove the back seats and the passenger seat. Cut the deck lid supports and put a topper on. You may be able to fit a riding lawn mower
Check if my 92 is similar, will be needed room also, and being on occasion, I'll see if a bolt on fabrication brace will work, if cutting out brace is needed. Haven't checked yet.
Looking at how the unit body is pressed, I see no danger of collapse. Its not even 1/4" plate. What weight is it supporting. Non load bearing structure for sure.
The rear seats will not even loose back support for your lumbar area.
